Footnote to table: In neonates and infants below 3 months of age the application time should not exceed 1 hour. EMLA should not be used in infants between 0-12 months of age receiving treatment with methaemoglobin-inducing agents (e.g. sulfonamides). In children with atopic dermatitis an application time of 30 min is recommended.
